thanks Vladimir — that’s a lot to think about, and I found myself nodding along to it. Great points, all.

I do worry that I think I’m trying to look at something from a new angle, but actually just missing that I’m just forcing old paradigms on new ones (workflows, software UX, hardware like keyboards), and ones that aren’t looking for new solutions at that!

I also think that what I’m asking for is essentially selfish in that Apple will somehow need to negotiate the key question of how do you ship an OS to my Dad’s iPhone (app count: 0, but many photos a day), my mother’s iPad (app count: 1, HayDay), and my iPad Pro (app count: too many but currently playing with Linux in ish.app) — and keep us all happy, engaged and not in the least bit confused. Geeks like me growling “more power!!!” misses the point that Apple needs to not disrupt the needs of 99% of the market.

Still, it’s kind of interesting as long as I don’t get too religious about the cause or disappointed about the outcome!
