Quick update: the iPad is here but I’m still waiting for the keyboard to turn up, so I can’t judge what a real “get-stuff-done” sort of workflow would be like, but it’s been a very interesting experience so far.
In the above picture, I’m trying out option 2 – “cloud upload” – with a VPS at vultr.com, using Working Copy to check out our code from our company git server over VPN (not shown), Textastic running in the left pane (editing the files locally and uploading in-app to the VPS), and Panic Prompt running in the right pane showing the Gulp watch process running on the VPS.
Full review and explanation to come once I’ve got beyond my terrible dev-ops with remote servers and understood all the pros and cons a bit better, but apart from a few holes in my workflow, it’s actually been more fun than frustration!
